Our area has lost several precious souls here in our neighborhood in the past few weeks. One who had an early mission transfer and 2 other dear sisters who have completed their missions here on the earth.
Many of you know that we have a beloved family member who is serving abroad. This week, his unit has suffered tragic losses, and several were injured. Thankfully, a call was received from our young man, and he is safe. However, 2 of our Utah sons have completed their earthly missions as well. I offer my condolences to their families and my thanks for their service and sacrifice. If you know of someone serving currently, or anyone who has previously served, please take a moment and express your sincere thanks and appreciation.
May the Lord bless the families of all of these beloved individuals who have completed their earthly missions.

I've been thinking about them alot lately. A situation has been brought to my attention where a first time mom is about to deliver while the baby's father is deployed. This girl is virtually alone. My heart goes out to her while she is making this huge sacrifice at this amazing and memorable time in her life. I can't help but think of this mother (and father) who are sacrificing spending their child's first moments together, so that my children can be safe.
It isn't just the soldier who is impacted by serving in the military, but family and friends all around. We owe a great deal to these brave individuals who are willing to put their lives, and their family life on the line.
