A frequent question that I have heard is"What is the difference between Instant Powdered Milk and Non-Fat Powdered Milk?" They are definately are not the same.
Instant Nonfat Powdered milk:
- Easy to mix with a spoon or blender as it dissolves more easily
- Chill overnight for best flavor for drinking
- May take twice as many granuals as powder to make Instant milk versus Non-fat Powdered Milk.
- It has a more "puffy" appearance
Regular Powdered Milk:
- More difficult to mix than instant milk
- Mix with hot water (or use the method I described a few posts ago)
- Blend in blender or with a wire whip
- Refrigerate until well chilled before drinking.
- Has a more "fine" and "powder" appearance.
Another frequently asked question is "What is a milk Alternative?"
- Blend of Grade A Sweet Dairy Whey, and Dairy Solids, and nondairy solids.
- It essentially is not made directly from milk.
- It is good for Lactose-intolerant individuals
- It may not work well in baking.
