It's a matter of....Christmas gifts

As promised, I am including some very basic gift ideas from your Food Storage. Let's start with an idea that stems from a class I taught on Making your own mixes from your Food Storage Staples:

Find a favorite mix and give it as a gift. Here you see 3 different mixes, Chicken Soup, Bread Machine Mix, and a Brownie Mix. Make sure you include the instructions on the sleeve. I didn't even use labels, I just typed them , cut them out, and used packing tape to adhere them to the pouch. Just as a reminder, you can cut down a standard sized pouch and make them any size you wish. These pouches are one-half the size of a standard sized pouch. You can seal the edges with a flat iron, traditional iron, or with a Food Saver.

You could choose to bundle them all together with a wide wired ribbon and give it as "dinner and dessert" to a friend, family member, or a neighbor. However, you could take it one step further:

I made a fabric sleeve (so easy to make...all straight seams) and slipped one mix inside.

Dress it up with a ribbon and there you have it!

Another option is an oldie but goodie.......Bread and Jam.

Here I have put some of the Peach Jam I made a few months ago into a cellophane bag. I add the proverbial bow and it is ready.

Make either a Yeast Bread or a Quick Bread and package it in a bag. Here is a decorative bag that the bread has been placed in. You could give these things individually or......

Combine them into a basket for a gift.

Enjoy the fruits of your labors.....
and share them with others during this Christmas Season
